DIKE FMIPA UGM dan CEECS NTUST Taiwan Jalin Kerja Sama Dual Master Program, Siap Cetak Lulusan Berwawasan Global

Yogyakarta, 9 April 2025 — Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) melalui Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika (DIKE), Fakultas MIPA, resmi menandatangani nota kesepahaman (MoU) kerja sama program Dual Master dengan College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (CEECS), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan.

Penandatanganan dilakukan oleh Dekan FMIPA UGM, Prof. Kuwat Triyana, dan Dekan CEECS NTUST, Prof. Jeng-Shiou Leu, pada 20 Maret 2025. Kesepakatan ini menjadi tindak lanjut dari kunjungan dua arah yang telah dilakukan tahun lalu—dimulai dari kedatangan Prof. Jeng-Shiou Leu ke UGM pada Juli 2024, disusul kunjungan Prof. Kuwat Triyana ke NTUST pada November 2024.

Program ini menawarkan kesempatan bagi mahasiswa magister dari tiga program studi di DIKE UGM—yakni Magister Ilmu Komputer, Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial, dan Magister Elektronika dan Instrumentasi—untuk menempuh pendidikan selama satu tahun di UGM dan satu tahun di NTUST. Setelah menyelesaikan studi, mahasiswa akan mendapatkan dua gelar sekaligus dari kedua institusi.

“Ini bukan sekadar program pertukaran biasa, tapi sebuah pengalaman akademik lintas negara yang membekali mahasiswa dengan wawasan global, jaringan internasional, serta kemampuan riset dan inovasi yang lebih kuat khususnya pada bidang seperti artificial intelligence, embedded systems, dan teknologi informasi. Dengan adanya kerja sama ini, DIKE FMIPA UGM dan CEECS NTUST berharap dapat mencetak generasi lulusan yang tidak hanya cerdas secara akademik, tapi juga adaptif, kolaboratif, dan siap menghadapi tantangan global di masa depan.,” ujar Dr. Wahyono, ketua Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika FMIPA UGM ketika dihubungi terpisah.

Melalui program ini, mahasiswa juga berkesempatan mendapatkan beasiswa penuh, baik saat kuliah di UGM maupun saat melanjutkan studi di Taiwan. Skema ini diharapkan membuka akses lebih luas kepada mahasiswa untuk bisa menikmati pendidikan berkualitas di luar negeri tanpa terbebani oleh biaya. Program dual degree ini akan mulai dibuka pada Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru Pascasarjana Tahun Akademik 2025/2026.

Kolaborasi ini juga memperkuat portofolio kerja sama internasional DIKE FMIPA UGM yang selama ini telah menjalin hubungan strategis dalam Program Double Degree dengan sejumlah universitas terkemuka di dunia. Beberapa di antaranya adalah University of Birmingham (UoB), National Central University (NCU), University of South Australia (UNISA), Kanazawa University, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), dan National Tsing Hua University (NTHU). Saat ini, DIKE juga tengah menjajaki peluang kemitraan baru dengan universitas internasional lainnya.

Langkah ini sekaligus menjadi bagian dari kontribusi DIKE FMIPA UGM dalam mendukung Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs), terutama SDG 4: Pendidikan Berkualitas, yang menekankan pentingnya akses terhadap pendidikan tinggi yang inklusif dan setara. Selain itu, kerja sama ini juga berkontribusi pada SDG 17: Kemitraan untuk Mencapai Tujuan, dengan membangun jejaring kolaboratif lintas negara untuk memperkuat sistem pendidikan dan inovasi global.
