MII6001 Discrete Mathematics, 2 credit score

In this course, some basic concepts of Discrete Mathematics which are used in Computer Science field consist of several discrete structures, sum and its applications, recurrence and its applications, counting techniques and its applications, and generating function. These concepts are needed to understand algorithms, programming, and data structures.

MII5031 Operation System and Computer Architecture, 2 credit score

Operating System course is a mandatory course for Informatics Engineering and Information System students. This course explains basic concepts in understanding computer system operation. The materials of this course are Introduction to Computer System, Computer Operating System Structure, Process and Thread, CPU Scheduling, Synchronization, Deadlock, Memory Management and Storage Media, Protection and Security System, and Case Study about DOS (Disk Operating System).

MII 5011 Lab Work of Algorithm and Programming, 2 credit score

The practical work based on the theory course consists of systems of linear equations, graphs, and sequences. It also involves the calculation of time and space complexity of algorithms and understanding complexity notation (best, average, and worst case). The use of abstract data types, such as stacks and queues, is covered to support optimization algorithms. The concept of Divide and Conquer is taught, along with an exploration of optimization theory, including Dynamic Programming, Greedy Algorithm, Amortized Analysis, Graph Algorithm, and more, along with their analysis.

  • Lecture Assessment

The process of assessing students’ learning by the lecturer is carried out through the administration of Midterm Exams and Final Exams, as well as other assignments, to determine the grades achieved by students in accordance with the course plan outlined in the syllabus.

    Graduate Requirements

The graduation participants in the Pre-Master’s class is categorized into three types :

    • Unconditional Pass, achieved when a participant completes 14 credit hours (for Regular class) or 11 credit hours (for Package class) with a minimum GPA of 3.00, without any grades of D or E.
    • Matriculation Pass (Conditional), achieved when a participant completes 14 credit hours (for Regular classes) or 11 credit hours (for Package classes) with a minimum GPA of 3.00 and has one or more grades of C+. Participants are required to improve the courses with a grade of C+ at the same time as the college year without any additional fees.
    • Failure, occurs when a participant completes 14 credit hours (for Regular classes) or 11 credit hours (for Package classes) with a GPA below 3.00 or has two grades of D. Participants may retake the class in the following year, subject to full payment, and are eligible to use the best grade obtained in that year.

Participants who have been declared to have passed the Pre-Master’s Class in Computer Science, whether it’s an Unconditional Pass or a Conditional Pass, have successfully completed the entrance selection for the Master’s program in Computer Science. Graduation from the Pre-Master’s class is not the sole requirement for being deemed eligible to enter the Master’s program in Computer Science. There are also TOEFL and TPA scores to consider, in addition to passing the selection process for the Master’s in Computer Science program.
