Bachelor in Computer Science Program – Student Activities

Students in the bachelor’s in computer science program are involved in a variety of constructive activities in addition to their academic work. The Computer Science Student Association is a student group for computer scientists (in short called, HIMAKOM UGM). This group hosted a variety of events, including leadership development, organization, and training in soft and hard skills. participants in national and international competitions and contests; mentoring and teaching assistants; entrepreneurships, sharing alumni, and social activities.

Dwicara for Startup Incubator

Dwicara is an Edutech startup in the form of a machine learning-based application designed with the aim of being a platform to make it easier for users to find language practice partners and train their language skills comfortably ✨ Dwicara won the Top 15 Product Based Capstone Project in the Bangkit Academy 2022 program and received an incubation fund of 140 million Rupiah, and also supported by Bangkit Academy 2022 by Google, GoTo, and Traveloka and the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Dwicara is a team consists of 6 members. Two of them are students from Computer Science, UGM: Muhammad Faqih Wijaya, and Geohasby Ammar Kautsar, which play important roles as Mobile Development Engineer.

JOINTS

JOINTS (Jogja Information Technology Session) is an annual event organized by HIMAKOM (Computer Science Student Association) FMIPA UGM Yogyakarta. JOINTS has two major events, namely Programming Competition Session (PCS) and Jogja Game Expo (JGE) and a series of other events. This PCS is specifically for high school/equivalent level students throughout Indonesia where students will have a major role in the field of informatics.
