3-4 Februari 2025 — Mahasiswa MKA UGM dengan bangga berpartisipasi dalam The 2025 International Conference on Advancement in Data Science, E-learning, and Information Systems (ICADEIS). Konferensi ini diselenggarakan oleh School of Industrial Engineering, Telkom University pada 3-4 Februari 2025. Sebagai konferensi internasional yang terafiliasi dengan IEEE, ICADEIS menghadirkan akademisi, peneliti, dan praktisi industri untuk berbagi wawasan serta inovasi terbaru di bidang data science, e-learning, dan sistem informasi.

Pada hari kedua konferensi, tim peneliti yang terdiri dari Dwi Ahmad Dzulhijjah, Fathin Difa Robbani, Wicaksono Leksono Muhamad, dan Dr. Dyah Aruming Tyas, S.Si., mempresentasikan penelitian berjudul “On-edge Device Optimization Using Multiple Classification Method for Cat and Dog Audio Classifier”. Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari tugas akhir mata kuliah Pengenalan dan Analisis Pola pada tahun ajaran Gasal 2024/2025. Fokus penelitian adalah mengoptimalkan metode klasifikasi untuk suara kucing dan anjing pada perangkat edge.

Perangkat Internet of Things (IoT) seringkali memiliki keterbatasan dalam hal memori, daya, dan sumber daya komputasi, sehingga penerapan machine learning (ML) menjadi tantangan tersendiri. Namun, kemajuan terbaru dalam kuantisasi model memungkinkan penerapan model ML dengan presisi yang lebih rendah. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi penerapan model ML neural dan konvensional pada Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense, sebuah prosesor Cortex-M yang beroperasi pada 64 MHz dengan RAM 256 KB, ROM 1 MB, dan latensi maksimum 100 ms.

Dataset yang digunakan berasal dari Kaggle, berisi rekaman audio kucing dan anjing. Metode ekstraksi fitur seperti Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC), Mel-Frequency Energy (MFE), dan spectrogram digunakan sebagai masukan untuk Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). Selain itu, fitur seperti Chroma, Spectral Contrast, Spectral Centroid, Zero Crossing Rate, dan Beat Tempo juga diekstraksi untuk melatih model konvensional, termasuk Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest, dan Gradient Boosting.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model CNN mencapai akurasi sebesar 93%, 95,2%, dan 74% untuk MFCC, MFE, dan spectrogram secara berturut-turut. Sementara itu, model konvensional mencapai akurasi 90%, 90%, dan 93% untuk SVM, Random Forest, dan Gradient Boosting. Penelitian ini membuktikan kelayakan penerapan model ML neural dan konvensional pada perangkat IoT dengan sumber daya terbatas untuk klasifikasi audio yang efektif.

Selain mempresentasikan hasil penelitian, partisipasi dalam ICADEIS 2025 juga menjadi kesempatan berharga untuk bertukar ide dan memperluas jaringan dengan berbagai institusi dan perusahaan teknologi global. Diskusi dan sesi tanya jawab selama konferensi memberikan wawasan baru bagi tim Mahasiswa MKA UGM dalam mengembangkan solusi inovatif yang lebih optimal untuk kebutuhan industri, sejalan dengan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDG) 4: Pendidikan Berkualitas.

Partisipasi dalam ICADEIS 2025 juga mencerminkan komitmen Mahasiswa MKA UGM untuk terus berkontribusi dalam pengembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan di tingkat nasional dan internasional, sesuai dengan SDG 9: Industri, Inovasi, dan Infrastruktur. Dengan semangat kolaborasi dan inovasi, diharapkan mahasiswa MKA dapat terus menghadirkan solusi berbasis AI yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat luas, mendukung SDG 17: Kemitraan untuk Mencapai Tujuan.
