Dosen DIKE di Ranah Big Data Global

Big Data saat ini sedang banyak diperbincangan, baik dari sisi teknologi, implementasi maupun aplikasinya, tak terkecuali di Indonesia. Perkembangan cepat yang disertai dengan kebutuhan analisis mendalam terhadap data menjadikan Big Data tidak hanya dilihat dalam ranah teknis, namun juga dilihat dalam proses penciptaan keahlian dan kemampun mengatur, serta pengelolaan Big Data.

Dr. Mardhani Riasetiawan SE Ak, MT, staf pengajar dan peneliti di Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika, FMIPA UGM, mengatakan hal itu saat menjadi keynote speaker 10th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week 2017. Mendapat kesempatan untuk berbicara pada 10th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week 2017 yang berlangsung 28 Juli-2 Agustus 2017 di Guiyang, China, Mardhani Riasetiawan mengupas Big Data education Talent and Program.

“Pada conference ini, saya mempresentasikan terobosan dan pendekatan proses learning dengan menggunakan blended collaborative learning untuk materi Big Data,” katanya.

Dalam acara ini, Mardhani mengenalkan framework atau struktur yang dinamai Bulaksumur Initiatives yang mengabungkan proses learning online, face to face dan co-working space dalam bentuk ideaspace. Implementasi ini dikembangkan di Laboratorium Sistem Komputer dan Jaringan, DIKE FMIPA UGM melalui GamaBox Incubation Program.

Mardhani juga menyampaikan proses implementasi pada beberapa kegiatan yang saat ini masih menunjukkan dalam proses berjalan. Salah satunya G-connect project, sebuah kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat tepat guna yang mengkolaborasikan sumber daya mahasiswa tingkat awal dalam proses pembelajaran big data dengan studi kasus menyebarkan konektivitas untuk daerah rawan bencana. Selain itu, disampaikan pula terkait Gamabox supercomputer, yaitu pendekatan ilmiah melalui kolabortif learning untuk menghasilkan super komputer pertama yang ada di UGM berbasis single board computer.

“Melalui conference ini, pendekatan unik dari UGM diperkenalkan di level global yang menunjukkan semakin mengakarnya UGM di lingkungan kampus dan masyarakat, serta menjulang tinggi di dunia internasional. UGM juga memperlihatkan peneliti mudanya  yang memiliki potensi global, memimpin keilmuan yang terkini dan menjadi rujukan,” ujarnya.
