Keamanan Komunikasi Antar Robot Berbasis FPGA: Inovasi Mahasiswa DIKE UGM

Yogyakarta, 29 Mei 2025 – Di tengah meningkatnya penggunaan sistem robot kolaboratif dalam dunia industri dan layanan, isu keamanan komunikasi antar robot menjadi semakin krusial. Terinspirasi oleh kebutuhan akan sistem autentikasi yang cepat, kuat, dan tahan terhadap serangan manipulasi data, Irfansyah Peradeniya, mahasiswa Program Studi Sarjana Elektronika dan Instrumentasi (Elins), Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika (DIKE), FMIPA Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), berhasil mengembangkan sistem Hardware Signature Authenticator (HSA) berbasis FPGA dan IC-Security.

Penelitian ini dibimbing oleh Prof. Jazi Eko Istiyanto, dan Oskar Natan, Ph.D., dengan mengintegrasikan teknologi tingkat lanjut dalam kriptografi dan sistem tertanam. Sistem HSA yang dikembangkan menggunakan Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) dan IC-Security Maxim DS28E38 dengan teknologi Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) untuk menghasilkan tanda tangan digital yang unik dan tidak dapat diduplikasi, bahkan oleh perangkat keras yang identik sekalipun.

Berbeda dengan pendekatan berbasis perangkat lunak yang rawan terhadap modifikasi dan membutuhkan waktu pemrosesan lebih lama, sistem ini menunjukkan performa tinggi dengan waktu autentikasi hanya 1,1 detik untuk data sebesar 100MB. FPGA bertindak sebagai pemroses utama yang mengelola seluruh alur autentikasi dan komunikasi, dengan efisiensi konsumsi daya dan sumber daya yang sangat baik. Selain itu, penggunaan arsitektur pemisah antara sisi komunikasi internal dan eksternal pada robot memastikan bahwa kunci kriptografi tidak terekspos ke jaringan terbuka.

Pengujian ketahanan terhadap serangan juga dilakukan dengan simulasi Man-in-the-Middle (MITM), di mana data yang dimodifikasi tidak dapat melewati autentikasi karena perbedaan hasil tanda tangan digital yang diverifikasi oleh sistem. Hal ini membuktikan ketangguhan sistem terhadap manipulasi data dan serangan penyadapan.

Inovasi ini tidak hanya unggul dari sisi teknis, tetapi juga berkontribusi terhadap tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya SDGs ke-9 yaitu mendukung industri yang tangguh dan inovatif, serta memperkuat infrastruktur digital yang aman dan berkelanjutan. Di masa depan, sistem seperti ini dapat diadopsi secara luas dalam robot industri, kendaraan otonom, dan jaringan IoT yang memerlukan kecepatan tinggi dan keamanan data tinggi secara simultan.

Penelitian ini telah dipresentasikan pada ajang bergengsi 2025 International Conference on Control and Robotics Engineering (ICCRE) di Nagoya, Jepang, menjadi salah satu bukti kontribusi mahasiswa Elins DIKE FMIPA UGM dalam pengembangan teknologi robotika yang aman dan adaptif terhadap kebutuhan masa depan.
