Mahasiswa DIKE UGM Kembangkan Model BERT untuk Analisis Sentimen Berbasis Aspek pada Review Film

Yogyakarta, 23 Juni 2025 – Analisis sentimen berbasis aspek (Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis/ABSA) semakin banyak dikembangkan untuk memahami opini publik secara lebih spesifik. Dalam konteks ulasan film, ABSA memungkinkan sistem tidak hanya mengetahui apakah sebuah review bersifat positif atau negatif, tetapi juga mengenali aspek yang menjadi fokus, seperti akting, alur cerita, visual, hingga teknik penyutradaraan. Pendekatan ini menjadi penting di era digital, ketika jumlah data opini publik yang tersedia sangat besar dan beragam.

Menjawab tantangan tersebut, Putu Arva Raysendriya Ersuputra, mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Komputer, Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika (DIKE) FMIPA UGM, mengembangkan metode analisis sentimen berbasis aspek menggunakan model deep learning BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers). Penelitian ini dilakukan di bawah bimbingan Faizah, S.Kom., M.Kom., dosen DIKE FMIPA UGM, dan direncanakan akan dipresentasikan dalam forum ilmiah internasional Advanced Machine Learning and Data Science (AMLDS) 2025 yang akan diselenggarakan di Tokyo, Jepang, pada 19-21 Juli 2025.

Pendekatan yang dikembangkan Arva menggunakan metode sentence pair classification, di mana kalimat ulasan pada dataset IMDb dipasangkan dengan kalimat tambahan yang mewakili aspek tertentu seperti akting, plot, atau kualitas audio-visual. Dengan teknik ini, model diharapkan dapat menangkap konteks hubungan antar kalimat secara lebih akurat dalam mendeteksi aspek dan menentukan polaritas sentimen yang terkait.

Dalam eksperimennya, Arva membandingkan dua varian model: BERT standar yang dilatih langsung pada data IMDb, dan BERT yang sebelumnya di-fine-tune menggunakan dataset SemEval 2014. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa model kedua memberikan performa yang lebih stabil, khususnya dalam kondisi data terbatas. Model tersebut mencatatkan F1-score sebesar 0,88 dalam deteksi aspek, serta akurasi klasifikasi sentimen sebesar 80% untuk empat kelas, 82% untuk tiga kelas, dan 89% untuk dua kelas.

Pendekatan ini menunjukkan keunggulan dalam menangani ulasan yang bersifat kompleks, termasuk yang mengandung sarkasme, serta memiliki potensi untuk diterapkan secara luas pada berbagai sektor seperti ulasan produk, layanan publik, hingga media sosial. Penelitian ini juga mendukung Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya SDG 9: Industri, Inovasi, dan Infrastruktur, melalui pemanfaatan teknologi pemrosesan bahasa alami untuk mendukung terciptanya ekosistem digital yang cerdas dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan  analisis opini publik masa kini.
