Mahasiswa Elins DIKE UGM Berhasil Kembangkan Prototipe Smart-Home untuk Efisiensi Energi dan Keamanan Rumah

Yogyakarta, 22 Mei 2025 – Khalifi Arham Gunawan, mahasiswa Program Studi S1 Elektronika dan Instrumentasi (Elins), Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika (DIKE), Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Gadjah Mada, berhasil merancang dan mengembangkan prototipe rumah pintar (smart home) dalam penelitian tugas akhir atau skripsi.

Penelitian yang dilakukan berjudul “Perancangan dan Pengembangan Prototipe Rumah Pintar (Smart Home)” dibimbing oleh Prof. Dr. Tri Kuntoro Priyambodo, M.Sc. (Kepala Laboratorium Sistem Komputer dan Jaringan), serta diuji oleh Dr. Yohanes Suyanto (Ketua Program Studi Elins) dan Drs. Bambang N. Prastowo (Sekretaris Program Studi Elins).

Khalifi merancang sebuah sistem rumah pintar yang berfokus pada efisiensi energi dan peningkatan keamanan hunian. Sistem ini dilengkapi dengan sensor gerak yang secara otomatis menyalakan lampu sorot apabila mendeteksi aktivitas di sekitar rumah, serta mekanisme pengaturan lampu teras dan halaman berdasarkan intensitas cahaya lingkungan. Dengan pendekatan otomatisasi ini, lampu akan menyala pada malam hari dan padam saat pagi hari secara mandiri. Fitur lain yang dikembangkan mencakup sistem kendali pintu utama dan pintu garasi yang dapat dioperasikan melalui perangkat telepon pintar, sehingga memberikan kenyamanan lebih bagi penghuni rumah.

Prototipe ini menggabungkan berbagai komponen seperti sensor, motor servo sebagai aktuator, mikrokontroler, serta layanan cloud untuk menyusun sistem kendali otomatis berbasis Internet of Things (IoT). Seluruh komponen dipadukan melalui perangkat lunak yang dirancang sendiri oleh Khalifi agar dapat berfungsi sebagai satu kesatuan sistem yang responsif dan efisien.

Melalui penelitian ini, Khalifi tidak hanya menunjukkan kemampuannya dalam mengeembangkan perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak, tetapi juga berhasil mengadaptasi teknologi Industri 4.0 untuk menghadirkan solusi yang bermanfaat bagi kehidupan sehari-hari. Inovasi rumah pintar yang dikembangkan juga mendukung implementasi Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (Sustainable Development Goals), khususnya SDG 7: Energi Bersih dan Terjangkau melalui efisiensi penggunaan listrik di sektor rumah tangga; SDG 11: Kota dan Permukiman yang Berkelanjutan dengan peningkatan keamanan dan kenyamanan hunian; serta SDG 13: Penanganan Perubahan Iklim melalui kontribusi terhadap pengurangan emisi karbon dari sektor domestik. Prestasi ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa DIKE UGM mampu menghasilkan inovasi teknologi yang dapat diterapkan dan berdampak dalam mendorong terciptanya masyarakat yang lebih cerdas.
