Mahasiswa MKA DIKE UGM Kembangkan Model XAI Menggunakan Seleksi Fitur SHAP dan Hybrid Sampling untuk Pre-Screening Anemia

Yogyakarta, 1 Juli 2025 – Mahasiswa Magister Kecerdasan Artifisial (MKA), Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika (DIKE) FMIPA UGM, Endra Permana, di bawah bimbingan Afiahayati, S.Kom., M.Cs., Ph.D., Dr. Sri Mulyana, M.Kom dan Dr. dr. Tri Ratnaningsih, M.Kes., Sp.PK(K), berhasil mengembangkan model Machine Learning Explainable Artificial Intelligence (ML-XAI) untuk pre-screening anemia. Model ini dirancang untuk mendukung proses diferensiasi klinis dalam tahapan pre-screening terhadap dugaan kasus anemia hemoglobinopati, seperti Beta Thalassemia Trait (BTT) dan Hemoglobin E (HbE), serta membedakannya dari kasus Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) maupun bentuk campurannya (mixed type anemia).

Model ini dikembangkan dan divalidasi menggunakan data pasien dengan latar belakang demografi lokal Indonesia, yang diperoleh dari hasil ekstraksi parameter hematologi melalui perangkat Advia dan Sysmex hematology analyzers. Dataset tersebut berasal dari peserta pemeriksaan kesehatan dalam studi kolaboratif antara Departemen Patologi Klinik dan Kedokteran Laboratorium, Fakultas Kedokteran, Kesehatan Masyarakat, dan Keperawatan (FK-KMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada, serta Laboratorium Patologi Klinik RSUP Dr. Sardjito, Yogyakarta. Seluruh data dikumpulkan melalui prosedur pemeriksaan Complete Blood Count (CBC).

Untuk menangani ketidakseimbangan data, model ini mengintegrasikan metode data agnostic hybrid sampling SMOTE-TOMEK dan SMOTE-ENN. Kemudian, model ini menggunakan seleksi fitur berbasis nilai SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) feature importance untuk mengoptimalkan performa model. Model ini dikembangkan untuk dapat mengklasifikasikan beragam anemia dan memvisualisasikan hasil prediksi yang dapat dipahami secara interpretasi medis untuk dapat dianalisa secara klinis.

Keunggulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan metode explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) berupa SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) yang memungkinkan dilakukan interpretasi visualisasi terhadap setiap hasil prediksi model. Penambahan penggunaan metode interpretasi explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) ini dapat lebih relevan dalam konteks medis dibandingkan hanya menggunakan metode interpretasi confusion matrix saja. Hal ini sangat berguna dalam konteks medis karena memungkinkan interpretasi klinis yang lebih transparan dan dapat dipercaya.

Hasil klasifikasi dari model XAI ini akan diinterpretasikan dalam bentuk nilai kepentingan fitur (feature importance) yang berbeda untuk masing-masing kelas anemia. Nilai tersebut merepresentasikan dasar keputusan model dalam mengelompokkan sekumpulan fitur data guna mendapatkan hasil klasifikasi. Hasil ini kemudian dapat dianalisis lebih lanjut oleh tenaga medis untuk ditafsirkan dari sudut pandang keilmuan medis dalam melakukan pre-screening anemia.

Penelitian ini akan dipresentasikan dalam International Conference on Advanced Machine Learning and Data Science (AMLDS) 2025 di Tokyo, Jepang, dan karya ini juga mendukung pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya SDG 3 (Kehidupan Sehat dan Sejahtera), melalui pengembangan teknologi medis yang adaptif, akurat, dan mudah diinterpretasikan untuk kebutuhan layanan kesehatan yang lebih inklusif.
