Mahasiswa MKOM UGM Ikuti Program Dual Degree di NCU Taiwan dan Dukung Pencapaian SDGs

Taiwan, 28 Mei 2025 – Mahasiswa Program Magister Ilmu Komputer, Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika (DIKE) FMIPA UGM, Ahmad Alif Robit Al Hazmi, mengikuti program dual degree di Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Central University (NCU), Taiwan. Program ini berlangsung selama satu tahun sejak September 2024.

Selama menjalani studi di Taiwan, Ahmad aktif mengikuti berbagai kegiatan akademik dan non-akademik yang turut mendukung pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs) yang dicanangkan oleh Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB). Program ini tidak hanya memperluas wawasan akademik lintas negara, tetapi juga membuka peluang untuk terlibat langsung dalam  upaya menuju pembangunan berkelanjutan.

Salah satu kegiatan yang diikuti adalah pendakian di Taman Nasional Yangmingshan, Taipei. Kegiatan ini dilakukan bersama mahasiswa Indonesia lainnya, dengan rute yang melintasi kolam belerang, air terjun, dan padang rumput. Pendakian ini menjadi bagian dari upaya menjaga kesehatan fisik dan mental mahasiswa di tengah padatnya aktivitas perkuliahan. Aktivitas tersebut sejalan dengan SDGs ke-3 yaitu Kehidupan Sehat dan Sejahtera.

Selain itu, Ahmad turut berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan Indonesian Cultural Day 2025 yang diselenggarakan oleh Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) NCU. Acara ini menampilkan pertunjukan budaya, musik, dan tarian tradisional Indonesia, dan dihadiri oleh mahasiswa dari berbagai negara. Kegiatan ini menjadi sarana edukasi dan pertukaran budaya yang mendukung SDGs ke-4: Pendidikan Berkualitas.

Tidak hanya itu, selama bulan Ramadhan dan Idul Fitri, komunitas Muslim di NCU (NCUMC) mengadakan kegiatan ifthar atau buka puasa bersama, donasi sosial, serta pelaksanaan shalat Idul Fitri. Ahmad aktif dalam kegiatan ini yang memperkuat solidaritas dan inklusivitas antar komunitas mahasiswa lintas agama dan negara. Kegiatan ini relevan dengan SDGs ke-10: Berkurangnya Kesenjangan.

Keterlibatan dalam program dual degree ini menunjukkan bahwa program mobilitas internasional bukan hanya tentang pertukaran akademik, namun juga berkontribusi langsung dalam pencapaian target pembangunan global yang berkelanjutan. Ahmad berharap lebih banyak mahasiswa UGM dapat mengikuti program serupa dan turut serta dalam tercapainya SDGs pada 2030.
