Prodi MKOM Selenggarakan Bedah Paper Chapter 3: Cognitive Neuroscience dan Kontribusinya terhadap SDGs

Yogyakarta, 21 Maret 2025 – Himpunan Mahasiswa Pascasarjana Ilmu Komputer (HIMPASIKOM) UGM kembali menggelar Bedah Paper Chapter #3 dengan tema “Cognitive Neuroscience: Perilaku Diameter Pupil terhadap Rangsangan Cahaya” pada Jumat, 21 Maret 2025. Acara ini menghadirkan Ibu Novera Istiqomah, Ph.D., sebagai pembicara utama dan dipandu oleh moderator Fadillah Siva. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperdalam pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai hubungan antara perilaku diameter pupil dan respons otak terhadap rangsangan cahaya, serta aplikasinya dalam bidang neuroscience dan teknologi.

Diskusi yang berlangsung secara daring melalui Zoom ini mendapatkan antusiasme tinggi dari mahasiswa, khususnya yang memiliki ketertarikan dalam bidang cognitive neuroscience dan teknologi kesehatan. Dalam pemaparannya, Ibu Novera menjelaskan bagaimana perubahan diameter pupil dapat memberikan informasi berharga mengenai kondisi kognitif seseorang, termasuk tingkat perhatian, stres, serta gangguan neurologis tertentu. Penelitian dalam bidang ini memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan teknologi kesehatan, seperti alat bantu diagnosis gangguan saraf serta sistem interaksi manusia-mesin yang lebih responsif.

Tidak hanya memperluas wawasan akademik, kegiatan ini juga berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dalam aspek kesehatan (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being), penelitian mengenai respons pupil terhadap cahaya dapat membantu dalam pengembangan teknologi kesehatan yang lebih canggih, termasuk deteksi dini penyakit neurodegeneratif seperti Alzheimer dan Parkinson. Selain itu, acara ini juga berkontribusi pada SDG 4 (Quality Education) dengan menyediakan ruang bagi mahasiswa untuk mengakses ilmu pengetahuan terbaru dan berdiskusi langsung dengan pakar di bidangnya.

Tidak hanya dalam ranah pendidikan dan kesehatan, topik yang dibahas juga relevan dengan SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Cognitive neuroscience berperan penting dalam pengembangan teknologi berbasis kecerdasan buatan (AI) dan interaksi manusia-komputer (HCI), seperti sistem eye-tracking yang digunakan dalam bidang medis, komunikasi, dan industri kreatif. Selain itu, Bedah Paper ini juga mendukung SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), di mana kolaborasi antara akademisi dan mahasiswa dapat mempercepat pengembangan inovasi di bidang neuroscience dan teknologi.

Kegiatan Bedah Paper Chapter #3 ini menjadi bukti bahwa diskusi ilmiah dapat memberikan dampak dalam mendukung penelitian dan inovasi yang berkelanjutan. Dengan antusiasme dan semangat belajar yang tinggi, diharapkan mahasiswa terus berkontribusi dalam penelitian dan pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, serta dapat menciptakan solusi berbasis teknologi yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat luas.
