Traveloka Goes To UGM – Life as a Software Engineer

Pada tanggal 4 Mei 2018, tim Traveloka berkunjung ke DIKE UGM dalam rangka mengadakan seminar bertemakan “Life as a Software Engineer” di Gedung Aula FMIPA UGM. Representasi dari Tim Traveloka juga sempat berkunjung sehari sebelumnya dan berdiskusi dengan Sekretaris DIKE, Dr. Azhari SN, M.T., untuk membicarakan hubungan baik yang ingin dijalin dengan departemen.

Dalam seminar tersebut, Traveloka berbagi cerita seputar kehidupan dan perjalanan karir sebagai Software Engineer. Seminar diawali dengan sesi dari Vice President of Engineering, Bapak Budi Kusmiantoro, yang menceritakan peran Software Engineer di industri teknologi, khususnya di Traveloka. Sesi kedua dibawakan oleh M. Shofwan Amrullah, salah satu Software Engineer yang merupakan alumni dari DIKE UGM yang menceritakan seputar perjalanan karirnya selama berada di Traveloka.

 

Mahasiswa juga mengenal lebih jauh tentang peran software engineer di  tim Technology yang ada di Traveloka. Informasi tersebut disampaikan oleh representasi tim Front-end, Back-end, dan juga Mobile yang menjelaskan tentang tanggung jawab dan cara kerja pada setiap departemen Technology di Traveloka. Dengan begitu, mahasiswa bisa mendapat gambaran langsung yang lebih detil tentang kehidupan karir seorang software engineer di masing-masing departemen.

Salah satu hal yang menarik dalam seminar ini adalah, presentasi seluruh pemateri dilakukan secara padat dan jelas yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan waktu diskusi interaktif lewat open booth. Sesi open booth memberikan kesempatan kepada para peserta untuk bertanya langsung dan menggali informasi lebih dalam tentang departemen yang mereka minati untuk mempersiapkan mereka menghadapi dunia kerja.

Diharapkan nanti peserta mendapatkan gambaran yang lebih fokus terhadap studi yang ingin mereka dalami, dan juga mendapatkan inspirasi serta langkah yang jelas untuk menekuni bidang yang diinginkan.
