First of all, UGM Computer Science and Electronics is an avant-garde of establishment computer science as a field of study in Indonesia. Established on 1985, Departement of Computer Science and Electronics has developed prodigious learning environment and gain world ranking rose time-to-time.

The university implement STAR (Student Teacher Aesthetic RoleSharing) learning system. It is a combination between SCL (Student Centered Learning) and TCL (Teacher Centered Learning). In SCL, students must be actively involved in the study process, while the role of the teacher is as a facilitator. This learning environment will encourage student to enhance knowledge and experience.

3. Admission

Student admission for all faculties within UGM is organized centrally by the Directorate of Education and Teaching of UGM. UGM uses a nation-wide student admission system which consists of two types: SNMPTN (selection based on high-school student score) and SBMPTN (based on entrance examination). Additionally, all state universities have to recruit students with a high academic performance but who have financial difficulties with a proportion of at least 20% of the new students to be admitted to the university.

The whole admission procedure is organized centrally with clear governmentally determined regulations. Due to the clear admission rules, the peers also concluded that the admission requirements are structured in a way that supports the students in achieving the learning outcomes. Computer Sciences receives about 100 students or 20% of the number of registrants every year.

4. Scholarship

As a world-class education, Departemen of Computer Science and Electronics aims to attract students arround the globe. Student tuititon fee and living cost became  primarily the responsibility of students and their families.
