Mahasiswa UGM Kembangkan Model Deep Learning untuk Klasifikasi Tutupan Lahan, Siap Dipresentasikan di Konferensi Internasional di Jepang

Yogyakarta, 16 Juni 2025 – Delfia Nur Anrianti Putri, mahasiswa Departemen Ilmu Komputer dan Elektronika, Fakultas MIPA, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), berhasil mengembangkan model deep learning inovatif untuk segmentasi citra satelit yang digunakan dalam klasifikasi tutupan lahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di bawah supervisi Dr. Wahyono dan telah membuahkan hasil yang membanggakan, paper berjudul “AtroUNet: Atrous Convolution & ResNet-34 Based U-Net Architecture for Land Cover Classification” telah diterima untuk dipresentasikan dalam International Conference on Advanced Machine Learning and Data Science (AMLDS 2025) yang akan diselenggarakan pada 19–21 Juli 2025 di Tokyo, Jepang.

Dalam penelitiannya, Delfia merancang model AtroUNet, yaitu pengembangan dari arsitektur U-Net yang telah lama digunakan dalam segmentasi citra. Model ini memperkenalkan integrasi modul Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (ASPP) dan memanfaatkan jaringan ResNet-34 sebagai encoder, yang mampu menangkap fitur spasial pada berbagai skala tanpa menambah kompleksitas parameter secara signifikan. Uji coba menggunakan dataset DeepGlobe menunjukkan bahwa AtroUNet yang dilatih dengan teknik augmentasi rotasi menghasilkan akurasi sebesar 79,83% dan skor mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) sebesar 77%. Hasil ini mengungguli model-model konvensional dan menunjukkan potensi besar dalam meningkatkan akurasi segmentasi citra satelit resolusi tinggi.

Klasifikasi tutupan lahan memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung perencanaan tata ruang, pengawasan lingkungan, serta kebijakan penggunaan lahan yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini juga menekankan pentingnya pemrosesan citra dan teknik augmentasi yang selektif untuk meningkatkan performa model, sekaligus membuka peluang pengembangan arsitektur segmentasi yang lebih efisien untuk implementasi di lingkungan terbatas sumber daya.

Capaian ini menjadi salah satu wujud nyata kontribusi UGM dalam mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya tujuan ke-11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) dan ke-15 (Life on Land). Teknologi pengolahan citra satelit yang akurat dapat membantu berbagai pihak dalam memantau perubahan penggunaan lahan, mencegah degradasi lingkungan, dan merancang kebijakan berbasis data untuk masa depan yang lebih berkelanjutan.
