Kuala Lumpur, 29 July 2026 – Thirteen students and four lecturers from the Department of Computer Science and Electronics (DCSE), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) visited the Nintex office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This activity was organized as part of the International Mobility Program 2026. The visit aimed to provide participants with firsthand insights into the global technology sector, interact with professionals, and experience a corporate working environment. Through a series of company presentations, professional sharing sessions, and an office tour, the program encouraged students to connect their academic knowledge with practical applications in the industry.
The agenda began with an introduction to Nintex, highlighting its business operations and technological solutions for automating organizational processes. This session offered participants a broader perspective on how products are developed to address real business needs rather than focusing solely on technical implementation. Following the introduction, Wei-Jye Wang, a Senior Engineer at Nintex, led an interactive sharing session. He discussed his daily responsibilities, the realities of software development, and the importance of collaboration within engineering teams in a professional technology company.
The learning experience continued with a specific discussion on software quality assurance delivered by Faezeh Saeedinejad, an Automation Test Engineer at Nintex. She provided a practical perspective on maintaining software quality through structured testing and automation practices. Afterward, Andrew Runya Dongo, an Engineering Manager, conducted a product demonstration, allowing participants to observe how the company’s software is developed and presented in a real-world setting. The visit concluded with an office tour, giving the delegation a closer look at the collaborative atmosphere of an international workplace.
Direct interaction with these experts helped students realize that a career in the technology sector requires more than just technical proficiency. Essential capabilities such as communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and continuous learning are equally important in an increasingly globalized workforce. Encountering different professional cultures and observing international workplace practices equipped the students with a clearer understanding of current industry trends and the competencies expected from future graduates entering the global market.
This international mobility and industry-based learning activity at the Nintex Malaysia office supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Providing students with opportunities to develop knowledge and competencies beyond formal classroom instruction aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education). Furthermore, the knowledge exchange between universities and the technology sector represents the implementation of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through this practical learning experience, DCSE UGM encourages students to continue developing their academic, technical, and professional capabilities as they prepare to contribute to the increasingly interconnected world of technology.
